user interface design
An effective user interface is the most performance-improving tool an application can have. It precludes the need (and the effort) for most other performance engineering activities.
isambard can assist organisations with usability issues by:
- organising and facilitating user interface design sessions (using techniques like contextual inquiry, paper prototyping, use cases and specification writing) to help define the appearance and behaviour of new applications
- creating paper and electronic prototypes of new applications (using platforms like HTML/PHP/ASP, Java, Visual Basic, Cocoa), and
- conducting formal evaluations of applications or prototypes, either using users and user scenarios (optionally including video-taping of evaluation sesssions), or using usability experts and normative evaluation heuristics.
